Journalists Published Media Award 2020

The Journalists Published Media Award 2020 is an industry award. It covers employers throughout Australia in the published media industry (newspapers, magazines, periodicals, journals, online publications and wire services) and their employees engaged in journalism in its literary, artistic and photographic branches, or in gathering, writing or preparing news matter or news commentaries, in the classifications in clause 11. Employees working on a print publication's associated online publication are included. The award does not cover the editor, editor in chief or chief of staff of a metropolitan daily newspaper, or employees paid more than the Level 11 rate who exercise significant editorial, artistic or managerial control or direction. It also does not cover employers covered by the Graphic Arts, Printing and Publishing Award 2020, the Broadcasting and Recorded Entertainment Award 2020 or the Clerks—Private Sector Award 2020, for employees covered by those awards. The hours of work and the overtime, shiftwork and weekend rate provisions do not apply to employees at Levels 12 and 13, Level 10 on a suburban newspaper, or Level 9 on a country non-daily newspaper.
